Sarah Louise Walker is currently pursuing a BFA in photography at Columbia College Chicago. She has exhibited at 33 Collective Gallery, Morpho Gallery, and on campus at Columbia College. She has received various awards including the Academic Excellence Award (2005) and the Albert P. Weisman Scholarship (2008). Most images on this website are available for purchase in limited edition prints.
In her work, Sarah Louise primarily photographs herself. Early on, she was fascinated by the idea of self-transformation and stereotypes, but as she has gotten older her work gradually shifted to analysis of herself and her family. Through this, she hopes to give viewers an insight into not only herself, but her audience, allowing them to see the similarities they may share as people.
Besides photography, she likes knitting, bookmaking, practicing stage makeup, reading, watching tv on dvd, thinking of tattoo ideas, and wasting time. She enjoys birds, photobooths, light shapes, crazy floral wallpaper, and time travel.
